The artist revis\u00adits the indus\u00adtri\u00adal her\u00aditage of the Liberec region\u2014specifically the aes\u00adthet\u00adics of the for\u00admer tex\u00adtile fac\u00adto\u00adry in Nov\u00e9 M\u011bs\u00adto pod Smrkem. By using found screen-printing films, she opens a visu\u00adal dia\u00adlogue with the his\u00adto\u00adry of the Czech tex\u00adtile indus\u00adtry and its influ\u00adence on the cul\u00adtur\u00adal iden\u00adti\u00adty of the region. In her work, she incor\u00adpo\u00adrates these recov\u00adered films, which were pre\u00advi\u00adous\u00adly used for screen print\u00ading. These arti\u00adfacts doc\u00adu\u00adment hun\u00addreds of pat\u00adterns that were once pro\u00adduced in the fac\u00adto\u00adry. Through their reuse, the artist authen\u00adti\u00adcal\u00adly ref\u00ader\u00adences the rich her\u00aditage of tex\u00adtile pro\u00adduc\u00adtion in the Czech Repub\u00adlic, which played a sig\u00adnif\u00adi\u00adcant role in both the cul\u00adtur\u00adal and eco\u00adnom\u00adic devel\u00adop\u00adment of the region. The mir\u00adrors in the piece Indus\u00adtri\u00adal Flower<\/strong>, car\u00adry\u00ading the mor\u00adphol\u00ado\u00adgy of tiles from the for\u00admer Nov\u00e9 M\u011bs\u00adto tex\u00adtile fac\u00adto\u00adry, refer to the archi\u00adtec\u00adtur\u00adal diver\u00adsi\u00adty of this now van\u00adished build\u00ading. They reflect both the present and traces of mem\u00ado\u00adry. Once a proud her\u00aditage, these struc\u00adtures today stand on the thresh\u00adold between cul\u00adtur\u00adal mon\u00adu\u00adment and dust.

Marcela Kindl Stef\u00adfanov\u00e1<\/strong> has long been ded\u00adi\u00adcat\u00aded to autho\u00adr\u00adi\u00adal and design jew\u00adel\u00adry. In her work, she com\u00adbines pre\u00adcise crafts\u00adman\u00adship with a per\u00adson\u00adal approach to the peo\u00adple for whom the jew\u00adel\u00adry is cre\u00adat\u00aded. While she most often works with pre\u00adcious met\u00adals, in her free artis\u00adtic prac\u00adtice she explores uncon\u00adven\u00adtion\u00adal mate\u00adri\u00adals, exper\u00adi\u00adments with inno\u00adva\u00adtions, and uses jew\u00adel\u00adry to reflect on themes that res\u00adonate with her at a giv\u00aden moment. Beyond jew\u00adel\u00adry, she is also inter\u00adest\u00aded in site-specific instal\u00adla\u00adtions and inter\u00addis\u00adci\u00adpli\u00adnary projects. She is the founder of the inter\u00adme\u00addia sym\u00adpo\u00adsium Sym\u00adpo\u00adra<\/strong> in Raspe\u00adna\u00adva, which since 2017 has pro\u00advid\u00aded a space for artists from dif\u00adfer\u00adent fields to meet and cre\u00adate col\u00adlab\u00ado\u00adra\u00adtive projects. She has also par\u00adtic\u00adi\u00adpat\u00aded in sev\u00ader\u00adal inter\u00adna\u00adtion\u00adal sym\u00adposia, draw\u00ading on their atmos\u00adphere for expe\u00adri\u00adence and inspi\u00adra\u00adtion. Stef\u00adfanov\u00e1 has also worked as a lec\u00adtur\u00ader at the Depart\u00adment of Design, Fac\u00adul\u00adty of Arts and Archi\u00adtec\u00adture, Tech\u00adni\u00adcal Uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adty of Liberec<\/strong>, where she shared her exper\u00adtise in jew\u00adel\u00adry and design with students.<\/p>\n
