Ivo Škuta, Runners

We are all run­ners. Some run fast, oth­ers slow­ly. Some pause along the way, oth­ers take a detour, but we all share the same goal. The sim­pli­fied sil­hou­ettes of run­ners on the mur­al, inspired by pic­tograms or fig­ures from urban nav­i­ga­tion, serve as a kind of life alle­go­ry, which Ivo Šku­ta ren­dered in a mono­chro­mat­ic palette using his pre­ferred techniques—acrylic and spray paint. The dis­play cas­es were con­ceived by Ivo as a fin­ish line for the run­ners, mark­ing the cul­mi­na­tion of their effort.

Ivo Šku­ta is a promi­nent painter from Ostra­va, whose visu­al lan­guage is entire­ly unique and dis­arm­ing, bring­ing a wel­come fresh­ness to the envi­ron­ment in Jablonec.
