Regularly and lovingly, I lose myself in the city that is so familiar to me. Regularly and lovingly, I also find myself again in that very same city. Along the way, I discover different things, different places, and reasons to linger in them. We come to know Liberec through its places of pause, dwelling, and sitting. Like a Hrabal reader savoring a word in the mouth like a piece of candy, I relish sinking into the physicality of the city—when I slip into its background and become part of the scenery that surrounds us. Even a bench can be an event, especially when nothing at all is happening on it.
