The presentation will showcase specific examples of curatorial, community, and participatory practices that actively engage with the history of a place, cultural heritage, and the relationship of residents to their environment. Tereza Nováková will also focus on the Liberec context (including Anifilm at the castle, Fügnerova Street, and more), demonstrating how temporary artistic interventions can initiate a critical dialogue about the use of space and co-create new layers of its identity. Emphasis will be placed on forms of collaboration across disciplines, institutions, and social groups, as well as on linking local activities to international platforms. The lecture will offer insights into the creation of a specific “ecosystem of place,” where past, present, and future intertwine through aesthetic, social, and environmental approaches, and open a discussion on the potential of contemporary art in public space as a tool for transformation and understanding.
